Nestled in the heart of the Waterberg Bushveld in the Sterkrivier region (Limpopo), we’ve opened our gates to a diverse array of species. From classic bushveld game to hardy, thriving herds of Bushveld‑adapted Oryx and Roan, each animal calls Zonnebloem home.
Intensive game breeding is challenging, but we love what we do. We are committed to conservation and preserving genetic diversity, eco‑tourism, and education—ensuring our legacy thrives far into the future.

The founders of Zonnebloem Wildlife, Gideon and Hannie Anderson, always had the philosophy that there is no alternative for quality. This is evident in our breeding programmes – quality animals with verifiable parentage and genetics.
The initial foundation of our Buffalo breeding stock was acquired after careful selection and sourced from reputable co‑breeders.
We have included East African Buffalo breeding stock from a diverse genetic heritage in our breeding herds.
We breed exclusively with nuclear and mitochondrial DNA-tested Zambian and West Zambian Sable Antelope, known for their purity, exceptional horn structure, and typical rich Zambian colours. These genetics ensure strong, high-value animals ideal for intensive breeding programs

Our Roan are unique in that they are hardy Bushveld-adapted animals. They typically have a robust build, a reddish-brown coat, striking black-and-white facial markings, and well balanced long horns with good tip-to-tip.
